The Arnott Eye Centre was established by Eric Arnott over 25 years ago. In the early 1970s he introduced the first modern technique for small incision cataract surgery - phacoemulsification - into Europe. Since its inception the centre has become internationally recognised as a tertiary referral centre for the treatment of complicated cataract and corneal problems.
The appointment of surgeons with differing subspecialities has expanded the consultant staff, so that a wide range of ophthalmic conditions can be dealt with. The centre is the first fully comprehensive ophthalmic unit in London outside a major teaching hospital and we provide patients with the latest ophthalmological technology for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. We also have a Berkshire practice at The Bridge Clinic in Maidenhead.
Following the retirement of Eric Arnott in 1999, we decided to rename the centre Arnott Eye Associates, which reflects the multidisciplinary nature of the team.
Whilst all the surgeons perform general ophthalmological services, they also have their own specialist areas. They all speak regularly at major international ophthalmological conferences, which enables them to keep abreast of the new technology available to treat eye conditions. Our surgeons and technicians are supported by a team of knowledgeable, compassionate and friendly staff with considerable experience in eye care.
