Danny Morrison was appointed in 2005 as Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmic Surgeon at GuyŐs and St ThomasŐ NHS Foundation Trust, and at the recently opened Evelina Children's Hospital, London.
Mr Morrison started his ophthalmology career in Brighton, Leicester and Edinburgh. He went on to become a specialist registrar at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, where he also undertook further sub-specialist training as a fellow in ophthalmic plastic surgery. This was followed by a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and King's College Hospital, London.
Mr Morrison did original full-time research in Scotland on a major study into congenital eye malformations, and wrote his MD thesis with the University of Edinburgh. Mr Morrison is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a medical advisor to the Eyeless Trust, a charity that supports children born with severe congenital eye abnormalities. He has many publications and international presentations in paediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics and ocular genetics.
Special interests: all aspects of paediatric ophthalmology, including squints, neuro-ophthalmology and genetics, ptosis and ophthalmic plastic surgery.
