Eye conditions
At Arnott Eye Associates we also treat many other common eye conditions. Lasers are often used in these treatments, although they are not presently used for the removal of cataracts. Modern lasers are extremely versatile and their beams so precise that they can be focused on a spot as small as one millionth of a meter. They are therefore ideal for treating many ophthalmic conditions with little or no pain and without the need for hospitalisation or incisions. They also reduce the costs associated with treatment. At Arnott Eye Associates we have three different lasers and the conditions they treat include:
- Glaucoma
- Age related macular degeneration
- Retinal tears and detachment
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Short-sight, long-sight and astigmatism/Clear Lens Exchange
- Retinal vein occlusions
We hope that you find this information helpful and that it answers some of your questions and concerns. If your condition has not been described it does not mean that we do not treat it. Ophthalmology is such a huge and rapidly advancing discipline that we do not have space to cover everything, for example squints, corneal conditions, minor surgery and diseases of the anterior and posterior segments. If you experience any problems with your eyes it is important that you seek proper ophthalmic advice, especially as successful treatment often depends on an early diagnosis.
Finally, Arnott Eye Associates care about each patients future. A good treatment result is as important to us as it is to our patients.
